The DSP+ provides three high-quality curriculum options for employers establishing a registered apprenticeship site.
Wichita State University’s Office for Workforce, Professional and Community Education (WPCE) has established a series of online “badge” courses for the professional development of IDD Direct Support Professionals. Each badge course is worth 1 credit hours and equates to about 45 hours of combined online instruction and study time.
WSU’s DSP badge courses are approved for use as part of the DSP+ registered apprenticeship program.
The Ohio Alliance of Direct Support Professionals offers a high-quality training curriculum titled “DSPaths”. Employers can utilize this training in an on-site manner by certifying instructors to provide the training to apprenticeship candidates. The DSPaths initial and advanced profe certificate trainings are approved for use as part of the DSP+ registered apprenticeship program.
